Police Dog Services, SERM Officer & Drone Aid Big River RCMP to Track Down Debden Area Suspects

On May 21st, 2018 at 11:48a.m. Big River RCMP received a call of two suspicious males on a farm yard approximately 5 miles west of Debden, Saskatchewan.
When the males were confronted by property owners they fled on foot out of the farm yard into a nearby wooded area. Big River and Spiritwood RCMP Detachment members, Meadow Lake RCMP Police Dog Services, and a Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment Officer, responded to the farm yard. Police Dog Services and an aerial drone were utilized in the search for the males.

The two males were located and arrested without incident at 2:30 p.m. at a residence on Big River First Nation.


Kevin STARBLANKET (18 years old) and Skylar LACHANCE (19 years old) have been charged with multiple offences related to the possession of stolen property in relation to 3 of incidents in the Village of Debden and the RM of Canwood during the proceeding 24 hours. Both males have been held in custody and will be appearing in Prince Albert Provincial Court on May 23rd, 2018.

The RCMP is cautioning people to not confront suspicious people. Please secure the safety of yourself and your family, call 911 and pay attention/observe all details if possible and able. If you can avoid a confrontation, please do so.
