Leduc RCMP Charge Male After Dangerous Attempt to Flee From Police


On Feb. 15, 2018 Leduc RCMP’s Drug Unit charged a male after he rammed police vehicles while attempting to flee police.


Members of the Leduc RCMP’s Drug Unit were conducting an operation targeted at drug trafficking. While members were attempting to arrest a male, the male attempted to escape police by ramming his vehicle through police cars. Although his actions caused extensive damage to multiple police vehicles, no officers were injured and he was quickly taken into custody

Incidental to arrest, RCMP located and seized a quantity of cocaine and over $1500 in cash in the accused’s possession.

A 27-year-old male from Edmonton, Alta. has been charged with:

-Trafficking cocaine

-Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

-Possession of property obtained by crime

-Resisting arrest

-Operating a motor vehicle while being pursued by police

-Dangerous driving

He has since been released from custody on bail, by a Justice of the Peace, and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Leduc on March 15, 2018 at 9:30 a.m..
